This is a recreation of an iconic image of Sai Baba. Sai Baba was born approximately 1838. He was known as the beggar of the beggars. He would spend every day begging, and then he would distribute the food he had collected to all the other beggars in the area before he slept for the night. In the morning, he would beg again until he gave it all away that evening. He resided in a dilapidated mosque in which he kept a fire constantly burning. He treated local sick with ashes, and miracle healings were attributed to him. He imparted many spiritual teachings and was considered a true guru … a physical form of God. He opposed persecution based on religion or caste. Sai Baba died October 15, 1918. Ramesh has worshiped in the temple in Mason bearing his name.
