​Gisele was inspired to create this work because of a photograph of author Louis-Marie Blanchard. She asked his permission to create it. Blanchard and his wife have spent decades traveling throughout the world and writing about their experiences for geographic magazines. Louis-Marie has penned books on Tibet, and on Marco Polo and his explorations. A part of the information that he has disseminated to the world centers on the spirituality of the mountain people of the Himalayas. Gisele's portrait melds the author and his subjects.
