Ramesh renamed this sculpture from the original title, “Saint Eric”, given it by John. This is actually a bust representing Eric Dolphy, the jazz sax/flute/bass clarinet player who was called saintly by his peers. A gentle soul, who died at the age of thirty-six due to illness, his music was adventurous, soaring, and intense. John says of the work, “the elongated neck and upward tilt of his head are to convey the disembodied, mystical, spiritual feeling that one can attain while playing music.

But, this piece also addresses the attainment of spirituality, and closeness to God, in general.

It was this last that led Ramesh to choose it to be placed at the entrance to the Museum, and to rename it with the title of his book, ​Spiritual Wisdom.
