Each day began in communal prayer with the fellow members of her congregation, volunteers, and guests before a tabernacle in her convent. She is seen here praying the Rosary, a prayer aid familiar to Catholics, which helps the faithful to contemplate the life of Jesus through repetition of common prayers. Those who knew Mother Teresa well stated that she was constantly at prayer and prayed the Rosary at all times, even when in conversation. Chandan felt called to depict her at a time when she would soon be with God after a lifetime of service.
