Shaolin monk. Are followers of Buddhism. They can be identified by the baldness of the image and the indentations on the top of the head. The indentations represent the marks left from a ritual in which the monks showed their devotion by having incense burned on their head in a pattern, such as the one shown. Shaolin monks were students of the master Buddha and the book represents their study.
