Food for thought - Children need Spiritual LoveĀ

Over the past few months I have been wondering why we are finding children in school bringing guns to kill their own friends and teacher.

After examining the situation here is my thoughts :

As concerned parents they are doing everything possible instead of giving them love and affection they listen to their children requests and making sure they pay utmost attention to their request and fulfill such request by giving them toys as gifts or even enroll them in participate sports and further even further help them with tools and gadget to stay ahead of technology.

As concerned parents they do not realize giving "attention" is mortal and is temporary phenomenon which looses it charm in time; where as giving personal "love" and  "emotional" hugs are immortal in nature and are long lasting.

Displacing "Personal Love" with "Individual Attention" is pulling away our children from "Spiritual Love " and pushing them towards rewards of "Transitory Attention".

According to the Buddhist tradition, Maitreya is a transcendent bodhisattva (or an enlightenment being) who will be the universal Buddha in a future age appearing on Earth in the future, achieve complete enlightenment and teach the pure dharma.  According to scriptures, Maitreya will be a successor to the present Buddha, Gautama Buddha (also known as Sakyanumi Buddha).
