High rises of USA vs majestic peaks of Himalayas - reprinted from November 2013

I spent an extremely fulfilling four days in a small town called Solan, located in the majestic Himalayas.

Boy, it was bitterly cold and I could not stay any longer, as I was not prepared for such a cold weather.

Any way these four days are like four years of my life with utmost satisfaction and a fruitful spiritual journey. I enjoyed my personal exchange of views with Swami Ji and got some good advice with regards to my next book “Absolute Truth: Unveiling the Divine Secrets” which I am in the process of writing based upon eternal wisdom included within the four VEDAS that were compiled more than 2000 years BCE and are regarded as the oldest scriptures in the world.

I was also pleased to learn that people in India who have actually read the book “Spiritual Wisdom” have found the book very thought provoking though little difficult to understand as English words used required extensive use of Google and the dictionary. I am not surprised, as I had to do the same to write the book to find proper words to express the meaning from Hindi and Sanskrit words used to compose the holy scriptures.

My visit to school was the highlight when I found all the children had their winter uniform and they looked splendid and smart. They made me very proud like a grandfather gets pleasure seeking his grandchildren.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the school had acquired a computer and is occupying a space no more than five feet by five feet and now reaching new technology in combination with ancient wisdom. In spite of shortage of space, the school has increased enrollment from 170 to 184 students and three new teachers have been added.

With regards to construction of new buildings, due to neighbors complaints about cutting of the mountain to make flat land and rocks rolling into a farm, construction has been stopped for at least 3 months till full land survey is done and parties have been satisfied of such a silly dispute. It further proves humans and the legal system is same.  No matter where you go they are ready to delay or stop the progress in the name of justice or a simple cause without first finding and reaching a compromise.

Anyway, I was further pleased to know that many teachers have enrolled their own kids to this school. This is the best testimonial I could have ever asked for!

It was very difficult to leave the school as it gave me so much more inspiration to help these young children of the future.

I want to let you know I am writing this blog in the plane back from Solan to Delhi from where I will be leaving to come back to be with my wife Chris and my children and grand kids to celebrate Thanksgiving, plus to take on responsibilities to serve material aspects of life to keep in balance the fundamental principle of my life “to acquire the inner tranquility through practicing spiritual capitalism.”

I am attaching selected pictures to let you see what I have just experienced from the majestic peaks of Himalayas as opposed to what I am now heading to accomplish working in the high rises of Western world of material wealth. Both are taking humanity to a higher level one with peace and one with pain.
