Ramesh Malhotra owns and directs the activities of more than seven different businesses in the fields of trading, manufacturing, import and distribution, real estate, innovative technologies, and brand marketing.
He balances his natural business acumen with his personal search for spiritual enlightenment.
Ramesh explains The Spirituality Circle as:
"The three aspects of life include: Service, Support and Sacrifice and they directly relates to: Karma, Dharma and Dakshna; as defined in the Vedas or in Buddhism as the true path to sanctity, Moksha or Nirvana. With fulfilling personal obligatory responsibilities, ‘Karma,’ one attains ‘Tranquility’ and with fulfilling social and cultural responsibilities, ‘Dharma’, one attains ‘Inner Peace’ and finally by fulfilling altruistic responsibilities, ‘Dakshna’, one attains freedom of individual soul. This all leads to eternity the ultimate goal of each living being”

Ramesh Malhotra was born in Lahore, undivided India, in November 1943* on the day of celebration of Guru Nanak’s birthday. After partition in 1947, the author’s family moved to a small town, Solan, in the Himalayas where he got his education. Later, his family moved to the newly built town of Chandigarh. He completed his master’s degree in geology at Punjab University and worked as a geologist for the state government in Simla, Himachel Pradesh. In 1967, the author left India to work toward a postgraduate diploma in mining and prospecting from Mont. Hochschule Leoben in Austria.
In 1968, Ramesh came to the United States for postgraduate studies. After receiving an MS in earth and space science from Stony Brook University in New York and an MSBA from Michigan Tech, he joined Columbia University to pursue a doctorate in mineral economics. In 1971, he joined the Illinois State Geological Survey as a mineral economist.
In 1974, he entered the business world and worked for Freeman United Coal as assistant vice president. In 1981, he joined NERCO Coal; after six years as the president of NERCO, he left the corporate life to start his own business.
In 1987, the author established Coal Network, Inc. in Mason, Ohio. Over the past several years as an entrepreneur and angel investor, he has been actively involved in seeding new business ventures, acquiring and expanding existing businesses to create new jobs, and supporting others in realizing their dreams.
In 1991, the author became a patron of the arts and has been supporting budding artists and art galleries, and sponsoring other art‐related ventures within the greater Cincinnati area.
The author’s passion for exploring and acquiring higher spiritual knowledge started during the early 1990s. He has traveled in India and other parts of the world and visited spiritual centers to learn and experience spirituality. The author has used spiritual knowledge as an integral part of his personal as well as his business life. This is the author’s first attempt to present his thoughts in the form of a book, and he is fully committed to acquiring higher knowledge and helping others in seeking such knowledge.
In 2011, the author initiated funding for an elementary school, located near where he received his early education. At this school, located in Himalayas near Sadhupul, Solan, fundamentals of higher knowledge are being taught and practiced. The author will dedicate the proceeds from the sale of his books to support this institute.
