This is one of the final works that Chuck did for Ramesh. It perhaps sums up best the entire purpose of the Museum and Ramesh’s desire to help individuals find a path through whatever faith journey best suits them. He believes all search for wisdom. This painting along with Sufi Storyteller are true indicators of how Chuck grew as a portrait artist from the one of Mother Teresa near the front entrance. Of particular note is his use of shade and light … something he has always done with great skill in his landscapes and began to put to use in his portraits the more he painted them. This painting is a particular favorite of many of the docents. Chuck calls this painting Man in the Woods. Our Artist-in-Residence, Tim Langenderfer says, for him, it hearkens to John the Baptist in the Wilderness. As with all good artists, Chuck has touched different people in different ways.
